Policies and Regulations
We expect all parents and guardians to follow the following school policies:

Arrival/Dismissal - Please Be On Time
School begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. every day and ends exactly at 2:55 p.m. Be a good role model and please be on time each day. If we are to prepare our children for successful careers we must teach them the importance of being punctual when they are young.

Dress Code
Cramer School is a uniform school. Each student is expected to wear either a white, navy blue or light blue top and a navy blue or khaki bottom for each instructional day.

Attendance - High Expectations
Students are expected to attend school each day of the school calendar year. Federal and State aid is based on our daily attendance count, so it is very important that each parent and guardian support us with each student striving for a perfect attendance record. The Cramer School has an Attendance Committee that monitors the daily attendance records of our entire school population. We have professional staff that assists us with intervention and in striving for a good attendance record for each student.

Meanwhile, we need the help of each household in the prevention of high absenteeism by making sure your child receives a good night's rest, is properly clothed in uniform attire and arrives to school each day on time by 8:25 a.m. for his or her instruction in learning. We also expect promptness from our parents at dismissal time.

Cramer School Website eBoard Info for Parents
Schoolworks is an online service designed for educators to communicate with parents and students through the internet. Cramer parents can check for school supplies, upcoming classroom events, homework assignments, schedules, conferences and other updated information. Each teacher has a SchoolWorks website and e-mail address. If you would like to access your child's classroom website follow the directions below:

  3. Click once on the homework & events button
  4. Click once on the link titled, homework

If you have any further questions concerning technology, please contact Ms. Pierson via her email address on the Cramer School website.

Lateness/Absences/Illnesses
Excused absences and lateness to school must be followed the next day with a note stating the reason the student was late or absent. In the event your child must be excused for illness then the first day your child returns to school, after an excused absence, a note from you, the parent or guardian, must be delivered to the school.

When your child is absent for an illness of three (3) days or more, a doctor's note must be brought to school on the day your child returns to school. Please include the necessary telephone numbers and contact addresses so the school may contact you about the lateness or absence. If your child has a large number of late or absent days, you will be asked to come to school for a parent conference. Remember lateness and absence affect the learning process for all of our students.

Early Dismissal
It is strongly advised and recommended that early dismissals for students be done only when absolutely necessary. Repeated early dismissals from school, robs the student of her/his valuable educational learning time. It also may have an adverse effect on student performance and achievement.

A note from home explaining the reason for the early dismissal before the release of the student is helpful. The school will not release your child to anyone but the parent, legal guardian or the person on the emergency card. Picture identification is needed by the authorized adult (including the parent) who is picking up a student for early dismissal.

Rainy Days/Inclement Weather
Parents are expected to be watchful of the weather and dress the students according to the type of weather. Rainy or cold days involve more protective clothing. In addition, breakfast does not begin until 8:00 a.m. and the teachers do not arrive in the school yard before 8:30 a.m. Please do not leave your child without supervision outside in the schoolyard.

Emergency Cards
The classroom teacher and the school nurse are required to keep updated emergency contact names, addresses and telephone numbers. Please make sure you have completed Emergency Cards in the event a situation arises where you need to be contacted immediately.

Change of Address/Information
Our rate of student mobility and transfer fortunately is decreasing. However, it is very important that you contact the school when you change your address. Please write a note to the classroom teacher providing us with the new information or contact our school office at 856/966-8910 to request the proper transfer procedures.

Lunch Program
Students will be admitted to the cafeteria for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and not before that time. They need to know their first and last name. They also need to know their homeroom teacher's name in order to receive a food ticket. Each instructional school day each student is categorized as being entitled to either a paid, reduced or free breakfast or lunch meal. This is dependent on the child's Food Application Form that the parent or guardian must complete and return each year.

When a child brings his or her own lunch from home, please make sure it is a well-balanced meal and not junk food. The lunch staff appreciates your support in helping us provide your child with a healthy nutritional meal daily.

Security
Cramer School is proud to have a very distinguished security guard staff. We particularly want to alert parents to school arrival and dismissal procedures.
